Last month we had several requests for more geeky content so we have the Garafa team lined up to take us down into the weeds. The course is presented by Jason Izatt, who is a prominent member of our local iPhone developer community, and who has several iPhone apps in the iTunes App Store. He is the creator, in fact, of my most-used iPhone application; MileBug. Check it out if you are a traveling salesman or otherwise log many miles that you would prefer to track for tax purposes or reimbursement.

The iPhone Training course will be held at the Miller Campus at Salt Lake Community College in Sandy. The super concentrated course runs for two days at 10 hours each day.

Join us for the 2nd Utah iPhone developers meetup.

The first meeting was very well attended with over 60 people and standing room only.

For this meeting we have gotten a much larger room so we can all fit more comfortably.

We have two terrific presenters scheduled for this meeting. Each has outstanding experience with leading apps in iTunes. We’ll hear about marketing iPhone apps as well as a summary from the recent Apple Developer Conference. We’ll be discussing the new iPhone 3.0, 3Gs, and the latest APIs.

• Evhret Milam – Creator of Green Wars for iPhone and one of the top teams in the Omniture/BYU iPhone application contests.
• Michael Alvarez – Creator of Showtimes and Yellow Pages Directory and a few others. As you can see from his wall post they now have over 2 million downloads.

Basically, you’re looking at a couple hours on Friday evening and then all day Saturday.

The event promises to teach you the ins and outs of Objective C iPhone development. Jason Izatt has produced a handful of successful iPhone apps and has accumulated some good experience that you will want to take advantage of as an iPhone developer. Check out his apps in the iTunes App Store; in particular my favorite MileBug.
