InsideSales.com, Inc., the recognized leader of cloud-based, sales automation software for inside sales professionals, is hiring 50 to 60 new employees over the next six months, including developers, sales professionals, customer consultants and support staff.

“The continued economic downturn has forced companies to find new ways to reach and expand their customer base,” said David Elkington, chairman and CEO of InsideSales.com. “The reason we are succeeding is that the InsideSales platform enables our clients to rival or exceed sales effectiveness achieved by the traditional, more costly outside sales models – doing far more with less using the inside sales model. In short, we accelerate the performance of the inside sales team. We call this combination of inside sales technology and best practices ‘high velocity sales’.

InsidesSales.com has thrived by providing its platform of high velocity sales acceleration tools and process methods to both enterprise and high-growth clients. As example, over the past three months the company has closed about 40 new customers per month. A brief list of our enterprise clients includes: ADP, BMC Software, Cisco, Dell, Gannett, Marketo and McKesson.

As one of the fastest growing companies in Utah, the company has plans to hire upwards of 400 employees over the next three years.

Interested candidates should contact InsideSales.com at: dfuller (at) insidesales.com , call (801) 854-9940 or visit www.insidesales.com.

About InsideSales.com

The InsideSales platform accelerates efficient lead management, especially lead response management and qualification. Key features include: PowerDialer, integrated with the InsideSales CRM and the Salesforce CRM; Immediate response, the ability to respond to web leads in under 10 seconds; Automation of standard sales functions, such as the ability to leave a voice message or email with the click-of-a-mouse or through one or more pre-defined trigger events; Extensive metric tracking and reports that enable visibility down to the sales rep level and provide guidance to the savvy sales professional when optimizing for maximum results.

In my continuing report on my experience with a new Toyata Camry from local Orem Toyota dealer Brent Brown, I want to share a little of my experience with inside of the vehicle, including the comfort and a few features I liked, and one I don’t quite ‘get’, but that might be exciting for some.

First up: Comfort. The new Toyota Camry is pretty comfy. I haven’t taken it on any longer-than-an-hour drives yet, but so far the ride is very comfy, and the bucket seats feel pretty secure. There are even bucket seats in the back, so everyone feels like they are well taken care of in a private seat. The back seat has plenty of room, even for my 6′ 4″ frame, and was more than adequate to handle my two young children, their backpacks and four large boxes of donuts we picked up for a birthday party.

The trunk space is plenty adequate, too. I took the car on a Costco run and in typical form came rolling out with about twice as much as I intended. There was plenty of trunk space to handle the job and the lid gets out of the way nicely enough. It did cross my mind that the trunk was larger than I expected when I had to reach in for a tub of hummus that had slid forward. I also like that although I can lower the back seats to expand the trunk space, there is a safety mechanism that only allows you to do this from inside the trunk, adding a level of security that solves a problem I have always had with that feature on other cars; I was never fully comfortable that my stuff in the trunk was as safe as it could be, with easy access from the main cabin. Now I can be, with a fully secure trunk space.

I usually drink something while I drive, especially on longer trips. I’d like to brag that it is a water or one of those healthy all-natural fruit smoothies, but to be honest it’s usually a soda in a large 44-ounce refill cup. In my mini-van the cup spaces are wholly inadequate, either too small to fit a large cup, or too loose and shallow to hold one through a quick corner. In fact my wife and I have evolved a natural reaction to grabbing any drinks we have in the car as we enter a turn. We shouldn’t have to do this and I am constantly thinking that auto makers have missed the mark on this American tradition.

I am pleased to announce that the cup holders in the new Toyota Camry are excellent; good placement, right where they should be, and designed to handle everything I have thrown at them (which includes a bottle of green tea, a 44-ounce soda cup, and a regular-sized cup). The holders are deep and have a little widget that grabs your cup, but not in a bad way.

The steering wheel is another item I have enjoyed. I know that sounds strange to say, but it didn’t take me long to get hooked on the volume control (complete with Mute button for when I need to shut down the loud music to talk to the bank teller) and the phone buttons. Yes; phone buttons. I can make a call and hang up from the steering wheel without letting go. Pretty handy. The lights and windshield washer controls are handy enough, and the cruise control is in a good spot although I would have preferred it to be on the face of the steering wheel instead of on a bar under the washer controls, but it isn’t in the way and I suppose that is the important thing.

The steering wheel does include a feature that I haven’t fallen in love with, but that some might think was cool: shift paddles. If you are not familiar with these, they are two paddles on the back of the steering wheel situated so that you can reach them with your extended fingers while you are holding the steering wheel. On the left is the ‘up’ paddle, and on the right is the ‘down’ paddle. By locking the shift stick you can convert the Camry from an automatic to a manual shift, and you use the paddles to shift up and down the gears.

I’m a big fan of automatic, and can’t for the life of me think of a reason to use manual shifting in a sporty-but-still-practical family car. This one is the four-cylinder, and has a nice kick to it, but I won’t be racing off the line with it and the manual shift option just seems a little superfluous to me. Regardless, it is nicely situated and would be a fun feature in the larger engine size. Not really much to complain about, but it’s all I can think of at this point.

To keep this from going to long (has it already?) I’ll sum up a few other items that I like about the cabin: USB hookups. I can plug in my iPhone and other USB accessories right into a very handy cubby that is perfect for my phone and a few grab-and-go items. I mentioned before that I like the central console button arrangement. I’d like to say it again because I really think Toyota got this right, and so many don’t; simple and intuitive, without too much going on. I like that.

I’ll file another report before the weekend. It snowed about four inches last night and I am curious to see how this thing handles in the snow. Hopefully Brent Brown won’t catch me spinning donuts in the cul-de-sac. which I plan to do. For science.

As the driver of an old Jeep Wrangler, I couldn’t help but be a little excited when the folks at Brent Brown Toyota in Orem offered me the chance to test-drive a new Toyota Camry for a few days. I decided I would blog about my experience and give you the rundown on the new car and my experience with the dealership. So here goes…

I was running late on the day I was scheduled to pick it up, and was surprised to learn that they were open until 9:00 p.m., which was a good thing because my Italian class at UVU let out at 8:30. I had just enough time.

I found the Brent Brown dealership tucked neatly between Walmart and the freeway just south of UVU in Orem and ran through the doors before I realized I might be giving away my excitement. Slowing down, I was greeted by Jared Pela, a sales and leasing rep on the showroom floor. I explained to him that I was there to pick up a new Camry, and he seemed more than willing to help me find my way. After a little paperwork Jared led me to the lot where the car was ready and waiting. He took his time to show me the works and to explain a few of the hidden features before sending me on my way.

Feeling I had a pretty good grip on things, we shook hands, I started up and headed out.

First Impressions

It’s a new car, and who doesn’t love a new car? It’s been a while since I have had one and couldn’t help but take in the ‘new car smell‘. That alone was enough to make me forget my old car and raise the excitement of the drive home. It was dark, and there was plenty of construction so the going was a little slow, but not too slow that I didn’t notice the fairly tight drive and responsive handling that you just don’t get in a 20-year-old Jeep.

Other first impressions included the remarkable discovery that there was more than enough headroom. I realize this is probably not a leading issue for most people, but I am 6′ 4″ tall, and rarely do I get in a car and think “hey, I’ve actually got a lot of headroom in this thing.” I was pleasantly surprised.

I also noticed immediately that the headlights were outstandingly bright. I had no trouble seeing the road at night and was impressed with the ‘projector beams’ as Jared described them. I was easily the brightest vehicle on the road. Not bad.

Finally, as first impressions go, I immediately fell in love with the central panel. When I travel around the country I often rent vehicles to get around in and am often confused by the seemingly random placement of a thousand buttons. On more than one occasion I have wondered whether the designers ever sat in one of their own vehicles. The Camry has a very simple-yet-complete central console that is easy to understand and almost immediately intuitive. I didn’t have to fish around to find buttons or work to understand how to turn on the heat, the defrost, or even the stereo.

Speaking of the stereo, this is my favorite feature so far. In a few seconds I was able to connect my iPhone to the Bluetooth system and begin listening to my favorite music. Since that first set up I haven’t had to take my phone out of my pocket to automatically listen to my music (it starts playing as soon as the car starts up) or make calls (The phone comes in loud and clear over the car speakers for hands-free talking). The touch screen panel allows you to easily flip through options for radio or CD, too.

So far so good; I have been impressed with the Camry as a good looking and practical car with a good array of creature comforts, which is what I really look for in a car.

I’ll write more tomorrow and tell you about some of the other features that caught my eye, and some on-the-road observations about the handling, driving experience, and comfort.

-Cary

Water drill improves dental precision, patient experience

Aribex, Inc., the worldwide leader in handheld x-ray technologies and manufacturer of the NOMAD® Pro Handheld X-ray System, today announced it has made an investment in H2O TECH, Inc. This is the first time Aribex has invested in an outside company. Details of the transaction were not disclosed; however, Aribex officials have confirmed Aribex will have a seat on H2O TECH’s board of directors.

“This is a great milestone for Aribex,” said Dr. D. Clark Turner, Chairman and CEO of Aribex. “We were a start-up company not long ago. We have always had an interest in helping others navigate the process of bringing new, disruptive products to market.”

Aribex and H2O TECH officials are optimistic about the synergistic relationship between the companies. “With patented technology and solid prototyping progress, H2O TECH’s product, Waterjet, is a first-of-its-kind water drilling system with many general dentistry applications,” added Ken Kaufman, President and CFO of Aribex.

As the handheld x-ray leader advances into multiple technological ventures in 2012, Aribex leaders are looking forward to beginning the year as a resource to the H2O TECH team.

“We are excited to have this opportunity to work with Aribex, a well-respected and innovative force in the dental industry,” said Tim Nelson, CEO of H2O TECH. “In addition to lending credibility to future fundraising efforts, we will be able to lean on the experience of Aribex in the areas of engineering, regulatory, sales, marketing, manufacturing and more.”

About H2O TECH

H2O TECH is an emerging company based in Spanish Fork, Utah. Their technology, also known as the Waterjet, consists of a pain-free, remarkably quiet water drill, a breakthrough in dental care that fills the need for a minimally invasive, low-cost procedure. Waterjet increases dental office production by reducing the use of anesthetics and substantially improving the patient’s outcome and experience. It is the most precise cutting device in the dental industry and will give dentists a new point of differentiation.

About Aribex

Aribex is the worldwide leader in portable and handheld x-ray products for use in clinical, remote and mobile care. The Aribex NOMAD battery-powered handheld device increases x-ray safety by dramatically decreasing the amount x-ray exposure required for correct use. It significantly decreases costs and provides hundreds of safe, high-quality images for dental, veterinary, medical, industrial and security applications, on a single battery charge.

Aribex, Inc., the worldwide leader in handheld x-ray technologies, has qualified for up to $350,000 in financial incentives from the state of Utah for expansion of their manufacturing capacity.

Aribex will receive the incentive in the form of tax credits that are contingent upon the company hiring 30 more employees in the next three years. The incentives were authorized under the new Technology and Life Sciences Economic Development Act passed by the Utah Legislature in 2011, and administered by the Board of the Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development.

“We’re honored that our home state recognizes the work that we are doing and the benefits our products bring to the health community, both domestically and internationally,” said Dr. D. Clark Turner, President and CEO of Aribex. “It also acknowledges the fact that we have the innovation, the resources, and the talent to take full advantage of the opportunities and growth ahead of us.

“Utah’s new medical device incentive is evidence of the impact that a smaller x-ray device from Aribex can have, and how a top-innovation state like Utah can help such companies grow and thrive,” said Richard Nelson, founder and CEO of the Utah Technology Council, an association representing the interests of the state’s 6,000 growing life science, IT and clean tech companies. “We’re proud of the success that the Aribex breakthrough products are having in both the dental industry and in patient care around the world.”

Aribex manufactures the NOMAD® Handheld X-ray System, which fills the need for a truly portable, lightweight dental x-ray device. Thousands of Aribex NOMAD handheld devices are now in use in the finest professional dental offices as well as providing access to care for hundreds of thousands of underserved people around the world. Unlike the bulky wall-mount systems traditionally used, the Aribex NOMAD is rechargeable and can go anywhere.

Doba founder Jeremy Hanks announced today a new business venture called DropShip.com, an innovative drop shipping software platform that connects suppliers and retailers in a way that makes it simple and easy to enable one–to–many connections, standardize product catalogs, update inventory feeds, and process orders.

For ecommerce retailers and wholesale suppliers, drop shipping relationships can be the key to growth and increased profits. However, until now, drop shipping has also been difficult to manage–requiring either excessive time and IT resources or inordinately expensive 3rd–party solutions.

“For most companies, drop shipping is a huge pain in the you–know–what,” said DropShip.com CEO and Doba Cofounder, Jeremy Hanks. “It’s managed by one–off processes and throwing more IT man hours at it, and that doesn’t scale. We’re going to fix that.”

Today, DropShip.com announced the solution: Software for Drop Shipping™, consisting of two unmatched and complementary software solutions: Supplier Utopia™ and Retailer Nirvana™.

Supplier Utopia gives product manufacturers and wholesale suppliers a private, drop shipping focused, dealer portal. The software integration is fast, painless, and performed almost entirely by the team at DropShip.com with very minimal requirements from the supplier. When it’s done the supplier has a robust, branded, drop shipping management solution that they can offer to all their dealers.

Retailer Nirvana allows ecommerce retailers to offer an “endless aisle” of product selection to their customers by enabling the retailer to connect an unlimited number of product vendors to their inventory system in a way that is both seamless and scalable. As with Supplier Utopia, the integration is quick and easy.

The announcement of DropShip.com’s new products coincides with the completion of its spinoff from Doba, an industry–leading virtual distributor and product sourcing broker. DropShip.com leveraged technology that has been built and refined over the last nine years to develop its drop shipping software platform and is spinning off from Doba to continue the differentiation of technology and products to meet the needs of very different clientele.

The DropShip.com team is comprised of several executives and core team members from Doba and has over 60 years of combined experience in drop shipping processes, relationships, and technology.

“We’re excited to go after this new opportunity and meet the needs of a new type of customer,” said, Blaine Nielsen, President of DropShip.com and former Doba CEO. “Our years of drop shipping experience has put us in a great position to solve a real problem for ecommerce retailers and suppliers without taking anything away from the excellent product we developed at Doba.”

About DropShip.com
DropShip.com is a Utah–based company that builds technology, software, and services to provide ecommerce retailers and wholesale suppliers with private drop shipping software platforms and services that manage product catalogs, inventory feeds, and orders. DropShip.com’s Software for Drop Shipping™ simplifies and streamlines drop shipping connections, helps companies keep up with ecommerce growth and potential, and saves them boatloads of money. Again!

Utah repeats this year as Forbes Best State for Business and Careers with Forbes themselves stating that “No state can match the consistent performance of Utah.”

According to the article:

Utah highlights include energy costs 31% below the national average and employment growth that has averaged 0.6% the past five years. Compare that to the U.S. as a whole where job growth has averaged negative 0.6% since 2005. Utah’s 5% corporate tax rate is well below western neighbors Arizona, Idaho and New Mexico. Utah ranks sixth in a new Tax Foundation study that looks at the tax burden on business in each state across different industries. As part of the ranking, we included the study which will be released to the public in the coming months.

Businesses are getting the message on Utah. Procter & Gamble, ITT, Home Depot and Boeing all announced expansions in Utah this year. The Goldman Sachs office in Salt Lake City is its second biggest in the Americas with more 1,000 employees and significant expansion expected over the next four years.
