Fibernet Achieves PCI DSS Certification

Fibernet Corporation becomes the first Data Center in Utah and one of only a few in the world to receive the Payment Card Industry’s (PCI) Attestation of Compliance as a Colocation Service Provider.

fibernetThe Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard is a worldwide information security standard assembled by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC). The standard was created to help organizations that process card payments prevent credit card fraud through increased controls around data.

“It was important to us to invest in the audit process to be PCI-certified,” said Lee Livingston, CFO of Fibernet Corporation. “By offering the only PCI certified colocation services in Utah, we are able to reduce the burden for our clients as they strive to deliver compliant solutions to their end-users. We are proud to be on the forefront of this issue as we know that it will become increasingly necessary to companies who process credit cards.”

Founded by American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB, MasterCard Worldwide, and Visa International, the PCI Security Standards Council is an independent body formed to develop, enhance, disseminate and assist with implementation of security standards for payment account security.

PCI Certification is becoming essential for companies processing credit cards.
