Mainspring Day Spa

Mainspring Day Spa

I just experienced a relaxing deep-tissue massage at Mainspring Day Spa, and boy do I feel great.

Let me tell you about my week; maybe you can relate: Its been one of those hyper busy weeks where things are going so fast I can barely keep up. In the past 11 days I have started before 6 a.m. and didn’t quit well after midnight. My wife has been out of town for the better half of the last few weeks and I have been playing Mr. Mom in between emails, phone calls, and planning meetings.

There’s a lot going on and I am really enjoying the speed, but my body is telling me it needs a break.

So this morning, before the crack of dawn, I was on my way to our local BNI meeting when it hit me: Mainspring Day Spa was bragging last week about having ‘the best massage in the Valley’.

You don’t have to tell me twice; time to put that claim to the test.

During our meeting (Mainspring Day Spa is a member of BNI), I referred myself to Corola and politely mentioned that it was urgent that I get an appointment. Today. Preferably between 5 and 7 p.m. She assured me this could be done.

Off to the races I went, looking forward to a welcome break later on. I made contact with Corola around 3 and we solidified the appointment for 6 p.m. “Show up a few minutes early” she said. Oh, I will.

At the appropriate time I broke away from a production-meeting-in-progress and ran out the door. Mainspring Day Spa is in the lower level of the Good Earth grocery store on State Street in Orem. Right smack in the middle of Utah Valley. Perfect.

I could easily sum up the rest of my story with “That was the best $50 I have ever spent.” But I really must tell you about it…

I am not really one to hang out in a spa or salon; I generally leave that to my wife. But I will admit that I was surprised at the serene atmosphere they have created at Mainspring Day Spa. I was relaxing already and I hadn’t even met the masseuse.

I was directed to have a seat in the nicely amended lounge to wait for my appointment, but was pleased to get underway before I could sit down; right on time.

What ensued for the next hour can only be described to those of you who have had a massage before with any remote understanding of what I am talking about; pure relaxation. Only better. I agree; Mainspring Day Spa really does have ‘The best massage in Utah Valley’.

My masseuse kneaded my body until it was free of the stress and anxiety that had been building for months. She pushed out the knots and rubbed away the ache. For an entire hour. (No kidding—right around $50 for an entire hour!) I left refreshed, relaxed, and ready to start again. I am a new person. I am better. I can feel it. And it feels wonderful.

Thank you, Corola; Mainspring Day Spa is now on my list of favorite places to be.
